At Until Death Doulas, we believe conversations about death should feel human, not heavy. Our events are designed to bring people together around a table, a book, or a shared curiosity—to explore what it means to live and die well.
From Death Dinners and The Last Chapter Book Club to creative workshops and care planning sessions, each gathering offers space for honesty, laughter, and connection. Come as you are, no expertise required, no topic too weird. Just bring your curiosity.
The Last Chapter Book Club
Come for the stories, stay for the snacks (and maybe a few feelings).
We read and discuss books that help us explore grief, mortality, and what it means to live fully. Expect open conversation, cozy vibes, and zero pressure to have all the answers.
A surprisingly uplifting book club for the morbidly curious. Led by Megan of Until Death Doulas.
Fascinated by our pervasive fear of dead bodies, mortician Caitlin Doughty embarks on a global expedition to discover how other cultures care for the dead. From Zoroastrian sky burials to wish-granting Bolivian skulls, she investigates the world’s funerary customs and expands our sense of what it means to treat the dead with dignity. Her account questions the rituals of the American funeral industry—especially chemical embalming—and suggests that the most effective traditions are those that allow mourners to personally attend to the body of the deceased. Exquisitely illustrated by artist Landis Blair, From Here to Eternity is an adventure into the morbid unknown, a fascinating tour through the unique ways people everywhere confront mortality.
